Sigma Systems is currently looking for an Customer Service Representative - Administrative to work in the LabHospital Support department at UMASS in Worcester, MA.
Shift Timings : 03:00 PM - 11:30 PM ( includes a 30 min break) and Flex. every 3rd weekend and vacation
Summary:
Acts as the customer service informational resource for patients, families and visitors as they enter the hospital.
Works collaboratively with other departments to ensure patient/customer satisfaction through efficient and timely admission/registration.
Responsibilities
Greets patients, family members and visitors to the hospital in a friendly, courteous and positive manner.
Provides directions, maps and/or assistance to all medical center clinics, departments and hospital areas.
Arranges for patient ambulatory assistance to reach the point of service
Triage patients/families to the appropriate staff as required.
Monitors the waiting area, identifying potential patient access flow issues. Reports concerns to appropriate management personnel.
May register patients or perform other administrative duties
if patient flow problems develop.
Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
EPIC experience , collecting co-pays, scanning of medical records and possibly entering in Authorizations.
Attends variety of meetings, conferences, and seminars as required or directed.
Demonstrates use of quality improvement in daily operations.
Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
Respects diverse views and approaches, and contributes in maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors.
Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.
Requirements
High School graduate or equivalent. Strong customer service (1 year +) and communication skills. Familiarity with basic medical terminology.
Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
Department-specific competencies, including age-specific competencies and their measurements, will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.
